Existing and Perceived (2017)

Existing and Perceived came out of a residency I did at Art Farm in Nebraska in October of 2017. On the cover is a quote from the quantum physicist Erwin Schrödinger blind debossed (letterpress printed without ink):

It is the same elements that go to compose my mind and the world. This situation is the same for every mind and its world, in spite of the unfathomable abundance of 'cross-references' between them. The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.
The text on the inside of the book is imitation typewritter — letterpress printed from two layers typewriter font, with xxxxx-outs and revisions built into the printing process — a short prose piece about driving through an imaginary landscape in Phoenix, Arizona, where trees turn out to be cell phone towers and flower gardens are not what they seem.

Letterpress printed from metal type, wood cuts, and the back sides of wood type. Edition of 47. The background prints vary in color and composition. 8.75"x5" when closed.

Mysterium Cosmographicum (2015)

Mysterium Cosmographicum is an essay on the five platonic solids, including instructions for building paper models. A lyric meditation on the history of these shapes and their connection to Plato's and Kepler's conceptions of the universe. The essay was originally published online in the literary journal Pioneertown.
